Afghanistan National Museum established in 1919 is located next to Darul Aman Palace

I visited the Afghanistan National Museum after lunch on Sunday, October 13, 2013. It was destroyed, looted and out of operation from 1992-2003. It is very easy and accessible to visit. See the museum's web site at: www.nationalmuseum.af.
